Having had some time to examine this 5K note closely, it’s clear to us that the note is high end for the PCGS-B assigned grade. Front centering is near perfect and the back margins are sufficiently large for the GEM designation. The note exhibits both natural paper and deep punch through embossing. Surfaces are unusually clean, as most original EPQ & PPQ ultras have teller handling, and associated smears /smudges on the right side. Original lime green seal contrasts well against bright white paper. A couple of BEP as made “lightning bolts” or internal paper wrinkles are noted in the right field, best observed on the back left. These are typically seen on ultra high denomination notes, and are a tell-tale sign of originality. They do not affect the technical or market grade. - All in all a very handsome example with great layout and super eye appeal. This Richmond example #166 is new to the census. Freshly graded & top pop at PCGS-Banknote, 2nd finest known both grading services combined.
